About Us

In our seventh year, Senior New Ways Inc. is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation that provides unique individual and group programs to enhance the community, life purpose and meaning, and whole health of seniors.

We reach out to local communities by teaching home visitors to promote health and well-being for their clients.

By working with local services agencies and senior centers, retirement
communities, healthcare providers and communities of faith, we create strong, caring community.

We help thousands of elders and their visitors and caregivers, and we promise to give each person who comes in contact with us individualized attention, respect, valuable information, understanding and support.

Our staff is our Executive Director, John W. Lehman, site/class scheduling personnel, an experienced teaching team, a Board of Directors and Board of Trustees, and a staff of volunteers.

Our Approach

Senior New Ways provides approximately 100 programs from 45 minutes to 1½ hours covering every aspect of aging, whole health, current events and issues, one-on-one visits/ interviews and opportunities. These programs are mainly for at-home active and assisted living seniors. There is special training and support for visitors and children/caregivers. Classes are formed into related groups, and the suite of classes results in the formation of groups for the long term.

Our Philosophy

Senior New Ways believes that elders are the jewels of humanity. We help older adults lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives. They have been polished by the trials and tribulations, joys and successes of their lives, and they have much precious wisdom to be shared with each other and the rest of us.

We also encourage older adults to be aware of the life still left in them. This involves changing their perceptions and the perception in family and community. We help older adults develop healthier lifestyles, and support those who give care to our older adults.
