The Holidays are a time of year of great festivity and gathering for family and friends, but not for everyone. Some people who live alone in isolation, such as Seniors, dread this time of year. Senior Health Chat -- "Estate Organization for Crisis and Loss"

An estate is like a jigsaw puzzle. The legal and financial pieces are imperative, but they are the tip of the iceberg of information needed at a time of crisis.

One of the greatest gifts you can give your family NOW is to write down the information they will need to help if you should become incapacitated or when you die. Creating a family resource guide eases the job of the care giver and the estate administrator. The information is at your fingertips and in your head - it will not be so for them! Our speaker, Jeanne Smith, will share how an easy this process can be.

Jeanne K. Smith is an Estate Organization Expert. Her specialty, which she pioneered in l992, focuses on end of life issues. She created a system for estate organization, and offers consulting and hands-on assistance to trustees, or executors with the estate paperwork, management and distribution of the physical estate.

Senior Health Chat -- "Keeping Your Brain in Tip Top Shape"

Secrets to achieving this will be shared by Judith London, a clinical psychologist from Stanford Research Center. She recently gave a fascinating presentation to our Chat about her new book titled "Connecting the Dots" -- how to communicate with people with Alzheimer's disease.  Judith is very knowledgeable about new research on how to keep our brains sharp as we age.

Senior Health Chat -- "What If..."
Death is the final event of one's life and an event that is not always understood.  Families sometimes feel "out of control" and at a loss as to what to do.  Zoe Cowherd Alameda, third generation owner of a family-owned funderal home, will present a general overview of the end of life process, such as Advanced Health Care Directives, POLST, hospice care and death care service procedures that are important to know before death, and that are necessary when one has died.  She will make available a useful packet of information to everyone attending.
